How do I prepare for a Reiki session?

There is no need to prepare anything for a Reiki session; just come in with an open mind. The more you open up to Reiki, the more you can relax and benefit from the abundant life force energy. Make sure not to be interrupted during your session time, as this will be a moment of deep relaxation for you, and we will be entering a meditative state of mind.

What can you experience during a Reiki session?

Most people enter a deep meditative state and might start seeing colors or images, or experience hot, cold, or tingling sensations. Processing emotions or falling asleep are also common during long Reiki sessions. In general, Reiki is a relaxing, peaceful, and restorative experience.

What to expect after a Reiki session?

Drinking water is always encouraged after a session, as it helps to facilitate the cleansing process. Most people feel relaxed, relieved, and balanced after a session. It is highly recommended to nurture yourself well afterward by drinking lots of water, eating healthy foods, and going to bed early.

What should I bring or wear during a Reiki session?

There is not a specific type of clothing you need to wear; this will be a meditative atmosphere where you can lie down on your bed or couch at home, or sit in a comfortable chair at your office. An open mind and going with the flow will give you a deeper relaxing experience.

Is Reiki safe?

Reiki is generally considered a safe practice that is not associated with significant risks. Reiki is not intended to cure diseases or health conditions; it should be used as a complementary therapy alongside more traditional medical or psychological treatments, not as a replacement for those treatments.

Can I drive while receiving Reiki?

No, you cannot drive a vehicle while receiving Reiki. We will be entering a meditative state of mind, meaning you cannot operate a vehicle at that time.

What if my Internet cuts out during a distant Reiki session?

Absolutely no need to worry! Reiki will keep flowing and cannot be interrupted when the internet cuts off. This is an ancient healing art technique that has been around for thousands of years. Long before the internet existed, distant Reiki was being practiced. Most of my clients can feel it when the session is done. If the internet cuts out, I will contact you by text when we are finished, and we can either re-admit you to the Zoom room or complete the rest of the session by phone.

Is Reiki religious?

Reiki is not affiliated with any form of religion or religious practice. Reiki is a spiritual healing art with origins in Japan. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word Rei, which means universal life, and Ki, which means energy.
